Absolute Beach is a B&B two minutes' walk from Britannia Beach, in a small village on St Helena Bay, a short drive from Paternoster. I would book it for a quiet couple's stay with walks on the sand and a book from the house library. I would not book it with children, since published rules exclude those aged 14 and under, nor with a dog, since pets are not allowed. Expect a cold Atlantic: you come here for the beach and the light, not for long swims, and the pool only runs in season.
- Arrive between 14:00 and 21:00: check-in closes at nine, and the drive from Cape Town International takes about two hours.
- Take the house loungers and umbrellas down to Britannia Beach: it is two minutes away, and the wind off the Atlantic makes shade and shelter worth carrying.
