The Ostrich Baron's Palace
A quiet stay with a pool and the essentials covered
About this stay
Malaria-free Klein Karoo ground, no fence relevant, a smaller and simpler property than most on this list with fewer published details but a strong early rating. The Ostrich Baron's Palace covers the essentials: free Wi-Fi, free parking, an outdoor pool and air conditioning, without a restaurant or spa attached. It suits travellers wanting a straightforward, no-frills base in the Dysselsdorp area over a full-service lodge or farm-estate experience. Kid-friendly tagging is not listed, so travellers with children should confirm suitability directly before booking a stay at this smaller property. With limited independent detail published so far, direct confirmation of current amenities and room categories is worth doing ahead of any booking made here.

- Air conditioning
- Free parking
- Free Wi-Fi
Our take
Malaria-free, unfenced Klein Karoo ground: this suits travellers wanting a simple, basics-covered stay with a pool and air conditioning. With only a handful of reviews so far, it is worth confirming current details directly with the property before booking, since less is independently verified here than for more established stays on this list. It is worth a direct enquiry before booking, given the limited independently verified detail.
- Confirm amenities and room details directly before booking, given the limited published information available.
- Bring your own entertainment for the evening, since dining options are not listed on site.
- Ask about air conditioning coverage across room types before arrival in peak Karoo summer.
Why we love it
- Free Wi-Fi and parking covering the basics
- An outdoor pool for warm afternoons
- Air conditioning throughout the property
- A quieter, simpler alternative on this list
Why guests love itThe Ostrich Baron's Palace is a small, simple option in Dysselsdorp, and I would only suggest it to families who need the basics and nothing more. The pool helps on hot Klein Karoo days, the rooms are air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. The perfect 10 score rests on just three reviews, so it is too early to judge consistency, and with no restaurant listed, plan meals in nearby Oudtshoorn.
